Below you’ll find the AIA Infinite Care pricing tables. You can find the annual premium for the policy by looking in your age bracket and gender column.
You can reduce the premium by excluding USA from the worldwide cover.
A main policy includes a small life insurance benefit, which is decided on by the customer.
Some other insurance companies already have a large life insurance benefit built into their policy (increasing the premium), but with AIA the customer has more flexibility to decide on the amount and the premium he or she would like to pay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the common questions people ask about the AIA Infinite Care policy. If you have any other questions, feel free to send me a message.
Does AIA Infinite Care give IPD (in-patient) coverage?
AIA Infinite Care from AIA has the highest IPD coverage of all the AIA products. IPD is when the patient is admitted to the hospital and stays at least one night.
If you have a look at the table below, you’ll see that almost all benefits are paid as-charged by the insurer.
Together with a 60 or 120 million baht plan, this means that your IPD expenses are well looked after.
An IPD benefit which should not be overlooked is 2.3 Medicine and medical supplies for take home. In some situations take home medicine can be very costly, and many insurers don’t provide this benefit.
• The applicant has the duty to provide true information in applying for insurance. Any concealment of truth or declaration of false statements
may cause the insurance company to cancel the insurance contract or refuse to pay the claims under the insurance contract.
• The applicant is advised to study and make thorough understanding about the benefit illustrations before making decision to purchase the insurance.
After receiving the policy, please study the details and the terms and conditions as specified in the policy contract.
• Terms and conditions of coverage will be specified in the policy issued to the policyholder.
Do I get OPD (out-patient) coverage?
OPD treatment is when you visit a hospital for a condition that is not serious enough to be hospitalized.
A good example would be a situation where you are concerned about a health issue but you would like to consult a doctor or specialist doctor.
The AIA Infinite Care health insurance policy covers both limited OPD benefits and as-charged OPD benefits for medical expenses.
Limited OPD benefits
For general use OPD coverage Infinite Care offers some of the highest in the industry.
There is a limited benefit of 40,000 baht per year for the 60 million baht plan and 100,000 baht for the 120 million baht plan.
The OPD benefit can be used for many expenses, such as doctor’s fees, rehabilitation fees, physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
As-charged benefits
What sets the Infinite Care policy apart from many other insurance companies is the benefit of covering OPD expenses that result in IPD treatment.
It is often the case that policy holders consult with doctors (OPD), who then recommend a surgery or operation (IPD). Or a doctor may recommend follow-up consultations (OPD) with a doctor after a surgery (IPD). In both these situations AIA pays for the OPD as-charged as long as it is within 30 days.
It is important to know that health insurance policies in Thailand don’t always include accident coverage. Many injuries aren’t serious enough for the patient to be hospitalized, so it’s considered OPD treatment.
Since some OPD accidents can be very costly, it’s always good to double-check that the health insurance policy you choose does cover it in some way.
Ambulance fees are paid for under OPD, meaning that even if you aren’t hospitalized the expense of the ambulance is paid for.
Cancer treatment
Besides as-charged benefits for chemotherapy, I’d like to mention that both AIA Health Happy and AIA Infinite Care health insurance policies include Targeted Therapy for cancer treatment.
With new advances in cancer treatment, patients can choose to forego chemotherapy in favor of prescribed medicine to target the cancer.
In one case a patient was prescribed these pills for 2 years to fight her cancer, and the cost was well over 5 million baht.

Is Infinite Care a main policy or rider?
AIA Infinite Care is a rider policy which means that it also requires a main policy. There are many types of main policies from which the policy holder can choose.
There are many great benefits of having a main + rider policy structure, which I’ve described in some of my other articles.
Firstly, let me explain how insurance companies and insurance policies differ.
Generally, an insurance policy will include or exclude certain benefits. If the policy includes a certain benefit, the benefit can be paid fully (as-charged), partially (limited benefit), or with additional limitations.
Many insurance companies automatically include a large life insurance benefit into their health insurance policies. This is a benefit which increases the premium whether you want it or not.
With AIA being the largest life insurer in Asia, they do things a bit differently. By using a separate main policy for life insurance, it’s up to the policy holder to decide what level of life insurance they need.
How is the hospital room benefit with this policy?
With a hospital room benefit of 12,000 baht a day on the 60 million baht plan and 25,000 baht a day on the 120 million baht plan, you’ll be able to get a nice room at a premium hospital.
Keep in mind though that hospital room fees in Thailand vary greatly in type, quality, and price.
If we look at hospital room rates at Bangkok Hospital, which I think is an excellent hospital, we can compare what type of room we can get.
At the time of writing this article, a Standard room cost around 11,300 baht and a Deluxe room around 22,500 baht.
A major medical expense can occur when there is a serious medical situation and the patient needs to go into ICU. In some cases, patients need to stay several weeks in the ICU.
It’s good to note that with Infinite Care an ICU room expense is paid as-charged.
Are there any other notable added benefits?
- 100,000 to 200,000 baht for orthosis or durable medical equipment. Orthoses are things that support the joints, like knee or ankle bracelets, and durable medical equipment is equipment that you take home that improves your quality of life, like a wheelchair or crutches.
- There is a 10,000 baht compassionate death benefit.
- A big part of having an injury is rehabilitation, but not every health insurance policy includes it. AIA Infinite Care allows physical therapy and occupational therapy as a deductible benefit as part of your OPD allowance.
- The 120 million baht plan has three extra policy benefits, namely general dental care, health screening, and vaccinations. However, both plans cover dental care due to an accident.
What are the policy exclusions?
Every health insurance policy has some type of medical exclusion, and you should check whether these exclusions aren’t anything that you would expressly want covered.
The partial exclusions of the AIA Infinite Care rider are congenital abnormalities, cosmetic surgery, and pregnancy related complications.
Partial means that there could be other exclusions on a case-to-case basis, so please read through the brochure and policy contract for the full terms and conditions.
Regarding 2 emergency cases mentioned above, the first hospitalized date in the United States and the Minor Outlying islands must fall within the first 90 days of entering the United States and the Minor Outlying islands for each trip. The Company will provide coverage for the necessary and appropriate expenses incurred from the medical treatments in accordance with the medical necessity and standards in the United States and the Minor Outlying islands.
Travel cover outside of Thailand usually has a limit of 90 days per trip, which is quite standard.
In general, travel to the USA has more restrictions due to the exceptionally high cost of medical treatment.
Pro tip
If you require a specific benefit which is stated in the policy exclusions, I recommend you find an additional policy to provide the cover that you need.
For example, some other health insurance policies may cover pregnancy at an additional cost to the premium.
In this example, there are always extended waiting periods and sometimes exclusions like the insurance only covers complications, and only for natural births.
An alternative would be to buy the pregnancy insurance directly from the hospital, which may be cheaper and more beneficial.
In this example, the separate pregnancy insurance may cover consultations before and after the birth, doctors and medical fees, and just better cover overall.
Please check, the price of a separate pregnancy insurance could be much cheaper than the additional insurance premium.
In Thailand, one policy rarely covers every benefit a person needs. It’s advisable to think about which benefits you care about most and to get a few policies to cover those needs.
Are pre-existing health conditions covered?
It’s always best to be honest when disclosing any pre-existing medical conditions.
If you have a pre-existing condition or a condition that was resolved in the past, the insurer is more likely to request a medical check-up.
In Thailand this is standard practice, especially for policies with a high sum assured.
The first step is to submit an application for the health insurance through your agent.
The insurance company may either:
- accept all conditions after a medical check-up
- exclude some or all pre-existing conditions
- approve all conditions but at a higher premium
- or deny your application altogether
Sometimes people can get discouraged from applying for health insurance because of a pre-existing health condition. However, when possible I always recommend that people apply for health insurance anyway. Anyone's health can get worse, and having cover is always better than not having it.
What is the AIA Infinite Care waiting period?
All new health insurance policies have waiting periods where certain policy benefits won’t be available, which is why it is so important to get cover before you are sick or get injured.
Generally, most benefits only become available after at least 30 days, but tumors, cysts, all types of cancers and stones, varicose veins, hernias, cataracts, tonsillectomy, and endometriosis have a 120 day waiting period.
The 120 million baht plan also has an additional waiting period for health screening, vaccinations, and general dental care.
Please check the brochure and double check with the agent for all waiting periods.
Remember that all policies are unique contracts between a customer and the company.
For more customer specific terms and conditions, upon application the approval department will specify any conditions based on the customer’s overall profile.
